We
are mathematics educators and parents interested in shared family/ household
mathematical meaning-making activities. This blog began in the time of physical
distancing due to COVID-19 in British Columbia, Canada and our interest to
contribute to at-home math teaching and learning.
Through
this blog we’re keen to explore activities that take us inside and outside the
home, that can connect us with the natural world and the body, and encourage
thoughtfulness and understanding of the patterns inspiring big
mathematical ideas. And most of all we’re keen to explore activities that
connect us to each other.
How to contribute:
Jump in – you’re welcome to contribute ideas, experiences and activities. Post comments and images of the activities you try. Post ideas for activities with potential to explore mathematical ideas. Exploring and sharing math ideas in our worlds can bring us together.
